Alternative Medicine for Hypertension
High blood pressure, or hypertension, has been a human problem for centuries, and medical science learned to measure human blood pressure about a century and a half ago.
Acupuncture and acupressure have both been used very successfully to lower blood pressure readings. When needles are inserted into the wrist, forearm, or leg, or when pressure is applied, opioid chemicals in the brain that reduce responses in the cardiovascular system are released. This causes a decrease in heart activity and the need for oxygen, which can lower blood pressure.
Garlic, onions, carrots, and celery are known to reduce blood pressure. Garlic is the best known of the group, and garlic pills and capsules can be purchased at health food stores that are just as effective at reducing blood pressure as eating fresh garlic.
Calcium, vitamin C, Q10, and flaxseed meal are all known to help reduce blood pressure, as well. Hawthorn and Ginkgo Biloba have also proven helpful in lowering blood pressure.
Chiropractors can lower your readings through skeletal manipulation.
There are many alternatives for controlling hypertension other than the synthetic drugs that are prescribed by medical doctors. The most important thing to remember is that high blood pressure can cause all kinds of very nasty things (heart attack, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure, etc.). Have it checked on a regular basis and keep it under control.

“There are many alternatives for controlling hypertension other than the synthetic drugs that are prescribed by medical doctors.” - This is very true. Most of the times it is better to go back to the natural way of treating things. Alternative medicines that are not too much scientific can even heal far better and/or faster than the synthetic one.

I think the hardest thing in hypertension therapy is the diet, to get rid of those yummy food out of the table is just not easy. Just like my mother, she has a hypertension and sugar problem, and already suffered stroke twice, but she keeps on eating everything she likes. I wonder if there’s a healthy food recipe for people like my mother which is not only healthy but tasty too.

Ok, but do the alternative treatments really work? I have no doubts about some kinds of foods, but what about techniques as acupressure? Are they effective?

I have battled with this for many years and found that although western and traditional medicines are short term cures, a change is habits and diet is the key to overcome this. You have to limit over eating, drink ample amounts of water, and control stress levels.

Hypertension occurs due to lack of blood reach in small brain, so garlic is considers to be the best one, because it purifies the thick blood and make it more thin, so that circulation occurs in excess.

I agree that there are a lot of natural remedies out there for disorders like high blood pressure, but you should be careful with what you do, especially when prompt treatment is necessary.
