5 Best Anti Anxiety Medications
If your anxiety level is mild to moderate, counseling and non-medication treatments can help you. But if your problem is severe or your diagnoses require medicine, anti anxiety medication is essential.
Many people benefit from the use of anti anxiety medication. Surely it backs you up and provides instant relief. But, it’s not a permanent cure. Ultimately you have to discover the underlying cause and unfulfilled needs. Only then, you can heal your anxiety completely for ever.
However, let’s find here some anti anxiety medications…
Azaspirones
You can use these drugs if you have Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). These medicines are work well. They work gradually over 2 to 4 weeks. You won’t have any severe side effects such as sedation, memory and balance problems.
Benzodiazepines
Take these drugs if only you have panic attack disorder besides GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). Benzodiazepines provide instant relief. But they also have side effects and make you dependent. Therefore, avoid them using for long-term.
Beta Blockers
Beta Blockers reduce anxiety symptoms such as palpitations, sweating and shaking etc. by controlling the adrenaline in your blood. At the same time, they also drop your blood pressure and slow down your heartbeat. So you need to consult your family doctor frequently.
Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs)
SSRIs are good for depression, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and panic attacks. Now many people are using them with good results. But then, you will have to suffer some common side-effects such as nervousness, sexual difficulties and nausea.
MonoAmine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
These anti anxiety medicines treat both depression and anxiety. If other medicines don’t work, these MAOIs will help you. But they interfere with what you eat and other medicines too.
Finally, if you use anti anxiety medication along with Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), you can get rid of anxiety or panic attacks for ever.

Because of innate stupidity I find myself suffering from ongoing anxiety bordering on panic. This is incessant and has resulted in my blood pressure elevating to 145/104 which I don’t believe is a good thing.
The real problem is that I know why this is happening but I seem powerless to do anything about it.
I have tried Prozac but found it did little for me, as I thing those drugs are good for people who experience anxiety or panic but don’t know why. Me, I know why.
I sometimes feel that a check for like $10K is the only medication that will work for my society induced anxiety.
If you are wondering about my innate stupidity, well how can an intelligent person be broke amongst so many stupid rich folk?

Okay, I understand that anxiety medication can be the best and seemingly only solution for severe cases, but as you mentioned, if it is not a long term solution, shouldn’t the anxious be looking for other, non-medicated ways to handle anxiety? I know people on different medications and they swear by them, but a fear of getting addicted always lurks in the shadows. How can you start on medication, yet prevent addiction?

Often, people struggling with anxiety can reduce their symptoms using homemade natural anti anxiety drug opposed to a prescription drug. The fact is, people have been using natural remedies for anxiety for thousands of years. Here in
Toluca my family used to prepare this anti anxiety soup that provide antioxidant protection and boost your mood.
Carrot and parsnip soup
1 teaspoon oil
1large onion, finely chopped
1 large parsnip, coarsely chopped
3 large carrots, coarsely chopped
4- 6 cups of vegetable stock *updated
2 stalks celery (include the leaves), chopped
pinch of thyme
pinch salt and black pepper to taste
Parsley to garnish (optional but recommended)
Method:
Heat a big heavy based pot , add oil and heat. Add onion and cook until transparent then add the carrot, parsnip, celery and stock and thyme. Bring to the boil slowly. Simmer gently for 1 hour. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Blend half of the soup and add back to the pot to give a thicker consistency.
Hope you enjoy the recipe!

I rather spend my money in some social activities than in pills. These medications often leads to dependency because taking them is easier than fighting with the problems of life. Remember everything has its price.

I am on 20mg of citilopram per day and although it works fine I still get anxious over nothing and experience my stomach churning on a daily basis.
I have tried various self help remedies with no success. Just have to live with it the best way you can.
