Diabetes And Weight Loss - What Has Obesity Got To Do With Diabetes?

Do you know that diabetes and weight loss are inter-related? Studies show that obese people are more prone to diabetes than others. Obviously, the only way to cure diabetes is to lose weight. Both diabetes and obesity are caused due to poor diet as well as physical inactivity. People who eat junk foods and live a sedentary lifestyle, such as sitting at the office desk for long hours, are more likely to suffer from diabetes than others. In this article I will tell how to cure diabetes and weight loss at one go!

Why does diabetes occur at all: Diabetes occurs when insulin fails to control the level of glucose present in blood. Usually, the role of insulin is to control the level of glucose in blood by distributing it in different parts of the body, such as brain, or by using it to produce energy. When however, the amount of insulin produced by our pancreas falls short of the amount of glucose present in blood or when the insulin produced by the body cannot properly control the blood sugar level, then diabetes occurs.

Demerits of Birth Control Contraceptives

Birth control contraceptives are said to be very effective in controlling pregnancy and a lot has been reported about the various other benefits of they offer. But like every coin has two sides, the same way along with so many benefits, these contraceptives have some demerits also.

Demerits of Birth Control Contraceptives:

Some of the less serious side effects of the birth control contraceptives are migraine, depression, breast tenderness, and weight gain among others. Apart from this, a woman can also experience nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. However, these are not the only side effects as one can have more serious side effects like heart attacks, increase in blood pressure, blood clots, strokes as well as a condition called venous thromboembolism. For the women who are suffering from diabetes, taking contraceptives may result in increase in the blood sugar levels.

These are some of the most common side effects, but some women also experience hypertension due to the usage of contraceptives; they are also said to be contributing to gallstone formation along with some kinds of benign tumor in the liver. Not only this, contraceptives can also interfere with the effectiveness of some drugs such as rifampin used for tuberculosis; griseofulvin, which is an anti fungal drug; corticosteroids; theophyline, which is a bronchodilator; and also anti anxiety drugs that contain benzodiazepine.

Depression Statistics - Just The Facts

Depression is quickly becoming one of the biggest medical disorders, and, unfortunately, killers, of all time. It affects people all over the world with no regard to age, sex, race, or financial background. Everyone feels blue during their lives, but some people are faced with factors that take their blueness to an entirely new level. Through medical treatment, psychotherapy, and mediation, people can recover from depression.

Sobering numbers on depression

Researching the statistics on depression has revealed just how widespread this problem has become. Nine and half percent of Americans over the age of eighteen suffer from some depressive order, including major depression, dysthymic disorder, and bipolar disorder. Everyone in the world will be affected by depression in their lifetimes and the depression may not necessarily be their own. Already children as young as pre-schoolers are suffering clinical depression, and the rate of depression among kindergarteners is rising.

The numbers keep getting more sobering. Depression affects fifteen percent of the population of developed countries, thirty percent of those affected being the female. Eighty percent of the people suffering from depression are not being treated for it, and forty-one percent of them are too embarrassed to get help. Depression in students of all ages is the biggest reason behind absenteeism, and by the year 2020, it will be the second largest killer in the world.

Depression From the Past

There are many different causes of depression. For some people it is easy to figure out what caused the person to fall into a depression, while for others there does not appear to be a specific cause. There is still much that is not understood about the causes and reasons for depression. There are some cases where the person appears to be suffering a chemical imbalance in the brain, while others only seem to have the depression because it appears to be genetic when their family history is viewed. There are, however, some cases where the cause of the depression is easily pinpointed and then treated accordingly.

There are many people out there who are suffering serious depression that was caused or triggered by a traumatic incident from their past. The event they experienced that was so overwhelming is what has led to their suffering depression because they might not know how to deal with the past incident. For many, the event was so traumatic that they can not move on with their lives because their main focus is on what happened to them rather than on how to live with the fact that it happened and there is nothing they can do to change it. When someone is caught in this loop, where the memory of the event will be triggered, which then leads them into depression, they might need the help of a professional online therapist or online counselor. If a person is greatly affected by a past traumatic experience, online therapy or online counseling can help them get over their depression. As they deal with their past, the person should begin to suffer less depression than before. Of course, the earlier the person consults an online therapist, the better chance they have of a quick recovery.

Depression Effects - End Them With the Right Treatment

No matter the age of the person going through depression, it can have so many different effects on their life. Depression effects can be severe, impacting people in the short term and in the long term as well. If you are dealing with some of these effects, it’s time that you find the right treatment to end these problems in your life. Here is a look at some of the depression effects that can be experienced, and a look at how you can treat depression effectively.

Problems at School or Work
One of the most common depression effects happens to be problems at school or at work. Those who are still in school may have disciplinary problems or may have grades that suddenly drop. Patients on the job may deal with problems concentrating, missing work, and poor performance. This happens because those dealing with depression have problems concentrating in many cases. These problems may leave people feeling even more hopeless.

Eating Disorders
Eating disorders can be one of the effects of depression as well. Often depression leads to eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia. In some cases people who are going through depression feel out of control, so they try to focus on what they are eating so they can feel in control of something. In other cases people may feel that they are worthless, so they deprive food from themselves.

Diabetes Reversed at Will!

A new useful study on diabetes has been done by the Researchers at the University of Florida who have been able to reverse diabetes in mice. What the researchers did was used a simple injection of immature cells, or stem cells, right below the skin, and the mice were able to regulate the amount of glucose in the bloodstream. Cells were harvested from the pancreas that were in early stages of development and cultured in a laboratory until they developed islets of Langerhans.

Those cells were then put into a syringe. This was then put and injected into the mice right below the skin. Then the cells began to act like normal islets of Langerhans cells several days later, therefore, reversing diabetes. Similar methods of reversing the diabetes have been used previously. The methods that were used were similar for skin grafts and other similar procedures. Only these stem cells became functional before being injected into the mice. This study lasted for three months and it was found that the immune systems of the mice did not attack the stem cells. Therefore, the researchers believe that growing cells in cultures circumvented the normal immune attack response. But they could not determine how long it would last.

Diabetes - Will It Go Away? Can They Fix Me? Why Me?

I hadn’t been feeling very well for about a year. I kept feeling run-down where even walking to get the mail, or making dinner, took more energy than I had. I would eat things with sugar in the hopes the sugar would wake me up, but it kept doing the opposite. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me.

Eventually I went to the doctor and he ordered a four hour blood test. That consisted of me getting stuck five times in four hours. The tests came back that yes, I was glucose intolerant, or had pre-diabetes. This means I have a significant risk each year of progressing to full-blown diabetes. This also means I have an elevated risk for heart disease and stroke. This means I am scared.

It is a bit of a shock learning you have a disease. When they first told me, I really didn’t know much about diabetes. Was it like a cold and it would go away? Could they fix me? And last of all, why me?

Wii Fit - The Aerobic Exercise Alternative

I usually hate video games. I just have no interest in them at all! But Wii Fit isn’t really a video game like any other. It’s really like having your own personal trainer in a way except I’ve had my own personal trainer in real life and I actually prefer the Wii Fit version because it’s more fun!

Wii Fit really does make exercise fun (has hard as that is to imagine.) It turns it into a game. You’ll end up doing the “rhythm boxing” or the “hula hoop” (two examples of the aerobic “games”) for hours just because you want to beat your friend’s score (yes it keeps track of everyone’s scores.)

It includes aerobics, yoga, strength training, and balance games. I mostly do the aerobics and yoga myself. The balance games are really fun too actually but I don’t think they give as good of a workout as the aerobics part.

One of the really cool things about the Wii Fit is that it keeps track of everything you do and how much you weight. This is really excellent if you are trying to lose weight. It keeps you from going “off course” if you are weighing in every day.

Sinus Infection Vs Allergies

Sinus infection means inflammation of sinus nasal passages. On the contrary, Allergies are caused by the over exposure of immune system to harmless substances like pollen or rage wood. Sinus infections and allergies are two sides of a same coin. They are similar but still different in many ways. Both diseases affect millions of people. Researchers estimated that 37 million people of America suffer from sinus infection every year and about 32 million from allergies. Let’s have a look over the differences of sinus infections and allergies.

Many of the symptoms of sinus infection and allergies are same like stuffy or runny nose and watery eyes. But there are few symptoms that are different. Fever, sore throat, muscle aches and colored mucus generally indicate sinus infection. On the other hand, itching and sneezing occurs due to the exposure of particles like dust, flower’s pollen, rage wood suggest allergy.

Sinus infection symptoms persist for longer period. It can be cured after a complete check up from a specialized doctor. Whereas, allergy symptoms tend to disappear when a person is away from the irritants like animals, flowers, rage wood etc.
