Memory Loss and Diabetes

There are many issues one can face when they have been diagnosed with diabetes. One of the most frustrating is memory loss. Memory loss can occur in most people as they age. But sometimes, memory loss can be due to circulatory problems and hormonal changes in the body. When this happens, one may feel inadequate and insecure.

To prevent memory loss when a person has diabetes, one should change their diet to include foods with fiber, protein, and calcium that will stimulate blood flow and also help replace some of the nutrients lost. Exercise will also promote blood flow.

Stimulating the brain by reading, solving crossword puzzles, and finding new hobbies are ways to keep the brain alert. Many times, it is the short term memory that will be affected. By stimulating the brain, one can minimize the damage that may be caused. Since memory loss can also be caused by other diseases, it is important to have a check up yearly to determine if diabetes is present.

Condoms as the Predominant Choice in Contraceptives

In the past several years, almost all countries around the world have been bogged by a variety of problems and challenges arising from rapidly rising population rates. With the growing population comes several other related problems like high unemployment rate, reduction of opportunities, overcrowding and eventually, poverty. Almost all nations, especially those in the third world have rushed to adopt several programs for distributing contraceptives.

Many sexually active couples prefer the use of condoms as contraceptives. That is because the rubber latex items are considered the most inexpensive and easily accessible birth control tool. Many couples are also choosing to use birth control pills, but in the recent times, it has been established that regular intake of such medications may lead to noticeable and adverse side effects on the part of the women.

Ligation and vasectomy are also options but not too many people are comfortable and are willing to undergo surgical operations for the simple sake of being able to forego contraceptives. With the use of condoms, it has been noted that there is no side effects on both partners. The item also makes sexual intercourse safe and possible regardless of time and venue.

Male Birth Control

Male Birth Control: Simple Enough?

Yes, male birth control methods are simple enough and yet men still don’t get it. There are only three male contraception methods, although there’s news of creating a hormonal contraceptive pill for male but the development of the drug is still underway. So we are down to three male birth control methods for now.

Condoms, vasectomy, and withdrawal. These are the only three contraceptives that men have to worry about. But that number we can still narrow down. Vasectomy is often not an option taken by males since they often believe that the procedure is irreversible. For your information, the procedure is reversible. But still this method needs the man to be lying on his back on the operating table and going under the knife, and such an idea is usually not that appealing. Not that I blame the man, though, nobody wants to be lying in an operating table for whatever purpose.

Autism Symptoms in Infants and Toddlers

Autism is a multifaceted brain disorder that influences a lot of aspects in a child’s progress, which includes his social, motor and communication skills. The good news is, there are many ongoing studies which seek to understand autism. Experts say that early detection and treatment of autism is vital. There is increasing evidence that it’s possible to detect autism in infants because early intervention can make a big difference in minimizing the symptoms and any other negative impact of the disorder, it is imperative for parents to understand autism’s signs and symptoms.

The symptoms of autism are normally noticeable by 18 to 36 months, and other mild symptoms may be apparent earlier than that; even during infancy. Therefore, parents should closely monitor or track their child’s progress. If the symptoms are identified by 12 months of age or earlier, rigorous treatment may reverse the signs.

Symptoms at the onset are easier to overlook primarily because it entails the lack of normal behaviors; and not the existence of abnormal ones. For instance, most babies with autism normally don’t reach out to get toys, or make signals to get your attention. Most parents misinterpret autism symptoms as signs of being a “good baby,” because the baby is withdrawn and is not demanding. True, a baby with those characteristics are easy to take care of, but these signs are some of the warnings that parents should be vigilant of.
