Alternative Medicine For Bed Wetting

The prospect of bedwetting can be such a source of taunting and comic relief among families, particularly for those with children past the toddler stage who still can’t seem to get over the habit of wetting their undies and bed sheets the morning after. The condition referred to as Nocturnal Enuresis is usually outgrown by most children as they advance with age-once their bladders are fully developed or as soon as the routine hormone cycle managing kidney-urine functions at night is properly initiated into the system.

If the ability to stay dry during bedtime does not come about until the ceiling age of 10 years old, a proper diagnosis of the underlying causes becomes the springboard to treatment. Treatment options come in the form of bed wetting alarms, prescription medicine and homeopathic remedies that serve as an alternative medicine to bed wetting.

Relationship Tips for Women - How to Ask Men to Wear Condoms

In the modern setting, people are very open to the use of different types of contraceptives. However, through the years, there is one observation that women are crying foul about. Women, in most cases are left to bear the burden of responsibility in ensuring the sexual encounter would be safe and protected. Many experts and feminists argue that it is way too unfair and stressful, and as such can make sex much less appealing for women.

If you are into a relationship and you and your partner decide to be intimate, there is a need to put contraceptives in place. If both of you are already aware of the numerous types of contraceptives available in the market, for sure, there would not be much problem about the contraceptives to be used.

Usually, there surfaces a problem about who would be responsible for the contraceptives. While there are many forms of contraceptives for women, like birth control pills, injections, sponges and IUDs, there are only two known contraceptives for men. Those are vasectomy and the use of condoms.

Acne During Menstruation - Time to Combat It!

For women, one of the most likely times to develop acne other than pregnancy is during menstruation. It is very common to have breakouts of acne during menstruation, and this usually occurs on the lower face, chin and jawline.

As you may be aware, acne during menstruation is mainly caused due to hormonal fluctuations that occur in your body during the menstrual cycle. Many women may feel embarrassed about this condition because they don’t want a sign for everyone telling them ‘it’s that time’ again. This is especially true for women who only develop acne during the menstrual cycle. However, a few lifestyle changes now can prevent further breakouts.

As mentioned, acne during menstruation can be affected by hormonal imbalances. Acne at this time is mainly influenced by androgens which are hormones that stimulate the sebaceous glands and hair follicles in the skin. One of the major players that can affect the levels of androgens is stress. Thus high stress levels can promote further acne flare ups. This is a vicious circle, because the appearance of acne may increase a woman’s stress levels. To avoid this take measures to control your stress levels. Perhaps you could take up yoga, meditate, have a relaxing bath anything that will work for you.

Parents Beware - Child Abuse Is A Very Real Issue For Critical Care Nurses

I am here in the pediatric intensive care unit caring for a beautiful 5 year old diagnosed with a terminal cancer as her parents make every decision possible to prolong her life. Of course, I am not alone in this unit. In every other cubicle there is another nurse like myself caring just as deeply for another child. Some of those children are also terminal, while others have an acute illness or injury where recovery is expected. But in one of these rooms here tonight, there is an innocent infant who was born completely healthy. He didn’t become acutely ill. He didn’t get an unexpected terminal diagnosis. He wasn’t in a car accident. He was shaken, squeezed, and thrown across the room as a result of a parent who lost their temper. And it makes me sad…..

In our world filled with the newest technology and the best of the best in merchandise, we can not seem to stop child abuse. Not only do we not stop it, we don’t really address it very well because it makes us feel uncomfortable. Our media bombards us with visual stimulation daily about what we need to make us happy, or to make our lives better. But do we see advertisements for helping parents cope when they are frustrated, angry, financially distraught, or overwhelmed being a parent? Do we look for programs in our areas where we could volunteer to teach parenting or to mentor young mothers and fathers? No, I say.. we are too busy and concerned with fashion, career, and finding that illusive thing in life we call happiness.

Causes Of A Stabbing Lower Back Pain

A stabbing lower back pain may be induced by quite a list of things and this is why an appropriate diagnosis from a certified practitioner is essential prior to beginning some form of treatment.

Causes like ulcers, kidney stones, a pinched nerve or injury to the back may all lead to a stabbing lower back pain. You need to realize that the back is linked to your central nervous system and anything that takes place in that general area will be picked up and on the odd occasion, manifest itself as a stabbing lower back pain. The lesson of the story is that whenever you experience back pain, it doesn’t mean that it is 100% related to your back. It could be just a prior condition just disguised as a lower back pain.

How To Fix A Stabbing Lower Back Pain

Everyone that suffers from back problems usually finds it hard to give a proper explanation to the doctor when asked certain questions. Start by keeping track of the pain. Keep a diary handy and whenever that pain raises its ugly head, take down a few notes on items such as the time of day that you usually feel the pain, the length of time that it lasts, did you feel the pain after a meal?, does the pain show itself when you do certain movements, if you were performing a physical task, what was it? Write down as many things that you think will help.
