LifeStyles Skyn Condoms Give That Natural Skin Feeling

People allergic or sensitive to latex who desire a more pleasurable sexual experience are now in luck because of a breakthrough in condom technology. LifeStyles Skyn condoms are the latest alternative to the regular latex condom as it is made from a non-latex material which is thinner and therefore provides a more natural feeling as if it’s second skin.

Skyn condoms make use of a flexible material known as polyisoprene. Compared to polyurethane, this one is more stretchable and comfortable to use. And since it is thinner than the usual latex condoms available on the market, it fits well. In fact, it claims to be “the closest thing to wearing nothing.” This is due to the fact that using Skyn condoms gives you that natural skin feeling which results in heightened sensation during sexual intercourse not only for the user but for his partner as well.

LifeStyles Skyn condom is also the first non-latex condom to be clinically tested and approved by the FDA. Getting the approval of FDA only means that this new type of condom is considered effective in preventing unwanted pregnancies and protecting users as well as their partners from sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) including HIV. Additionally, it has been confirmed to have a lower slippage and breakage rate than the other condoms made from non-latex materials.

2009 CPT Codes - Pediatric Coding

The 2009 CPT codes have eased a lot of issues for pediatric coders. When CPT 2008 introduced initial intensive hospital care, the only place to stick the code was in the other evaluation and management services section. This placement led to confusion regarding how to properly use 99477 (Initial hospital care, per day, for the evaluation and management of the neonate, 28 days of age or less, who requires intensive observation, frequent interventions, and other intensive care services).

The new 2009 CPT codes have been renumbered and relocated in the intensive care subsection. You can now easily see that a newborn progresses from intensive care to subsequent critical care.

To make sure you don’t get lost in the renumbered and relocated sections follow these fundamentals:

1. Newborn Care Codes

The 2009 CPT codes numbers the whole newborn care section including normal newborn care. Now, you will report 99431-99440 with new codes 99460-99465.

2. Transport Codes

Pay attention if you code for a hospital that sends pediatric patients to a facility with a higher-level nursery — or for a practice that has to coordinate an emergency transport. You’ll find the pediatric critical care patient transport codes after 99465 in CPT 2009.

Healthy Eating and Dining Out

One of the biggest challenges facing those trying to follow a healthy diet is the local restaurant. Eating out presents special challenges, such as not knowing how the food was prepared, how much fat it contains, and whether or not the healthiest ingredients were used.

Many restaurant chains, and even some fast food restaurants, have recognized the demand for healthier menu choices, and they are working hard to satisfy that demand. All too often, however, the healthy choices on a restaurant menu are limited and unappealing. It is important, therefore to pay close attention to the menu and make the healthiest choices possible.

One of the most important thing diners can do to eat healthy at restaurants is to be proactive. Diners should not be afraid to ask how a dish is prepared, or what ingredients are used in its preparation. If the server does not know, ask him or her to check with the chef. A good chef will be happy to answer such questions, and to make modifications in the recipe if needed. In addition, most restaurants will happily accommodate special needs, such as low fat or low sodium dishes. After all, the restaurant is there to serve its patrons.

Dealing with Autism in Public

Autism is a developmental disorder that affects roughly one out of 100 children. It is characterized by a lack of ability to function socially and in more severe cases, the process of communication.

Discovering that your child has autism can be a traumatic experience. Oftentimes, parents may believe there is something developmentally wrong with their child, but accepting that autism is the culprit can be difficult to say the least. Accepting that your child is autistic and getting him the help he needs is just the beginning. There are many other factors that go into parenting an autistic child.

At first, having an autistic child can be embarrassing for some parents. Autistic children do not have the same social skills as most of their peers. They are often prone to fits of anger and violence due to their inability to properly communicate. Oftentimes, these ‘tantrums’ occur in public.

There are many people that do not understand the first thing about autism. This means that they are more likely to make rude or insensitive comments about autistic people. People, on the whole, are an understanding bunch, although there are plenty of people who will make insensitive comments, ask inappropriate questions, and even stare at autistic children.

Diabetes in Pregnancy - Gestational Diabetes

Diabetes is a problem when human body is either not producing or using insulin. Insulin is a hormone that converts starch, sugar or other food items into energy. The problem starts when there is increase in the level of sugar in blood. Insulin controls the blood sugar level in the body. It affects the entire world but most cases related to diabetes seen in U.S.A. About 16 million of people is caught by disease and nearly 5 million of people are those who unaware of this disease.

Gestational Diabetes

Gestational diabetes is a type of diabetes that affects pregnant women. A general survey says this type of diabetes caught almost 4% of all pregnant women. It also says about 1, 30,000 cases of gestational diabetes are come to light every year. Hormones produced in women’s body during pregnancy reduced insulin in her body, which leads to problem of high blood sugar in the body. During pregnancy a mother needs three times of insulin to convert starch into energy for more energy. When her body becomes unable to use insulin the problem goes to gestational diabetes.

Reasons

What is a Gluten Allergy?

In wheat, barley, rye, and low level oats, there is a rubbery like protein called gluten. This substance is what helps the dough bind, which you would see with baked breads and other baked foods. Although these grains contain gluten, which can cause a gluten allergy in sensitive people, they also contain a number of other proteins that can also cause allergy symptoms.

The four primary proteins found in wheat, rye, and barley includes albumin, globulin, gliadin, and glutenin, better known as gluten. While the symptoms and severity of the symptoms of gluten allergy vary from one person to another, generally a person would experience hives, swelling, abdominal cramps, nausea and vomiting, or asthma. If the person is highly sensitive to gluten allergy, the symptoms could be life-threatening.

The good news about gluten allergy is that if the person has a reaction after eating wheat or wheat product, making an early diagnosis is easy. The challenge is that so many of the foods we eat are made with wheat, making it difficult to tell where the real problem lies. Most often, a trained doctor or allergist would conduct a skin prick test or take blood to confirm that gluten allergy is the problem.

So are you looking for help with your dental care questions? I was once was in your position, until I learned about dental plans and how good they are. Dental plans provide full dental coverage for all procedures and are extremely convenient and cheap.

You can often receive a full coverage dental plan for under $200.

These plans are designed for individuals and families who aren’t covered by their employer. In fact, even people who are covered by their employer are increasingly switching to this alternative for it’s convenience and flexibility. I can personally say that I wish I would have known about dental plans a long time ago, as I could have saved lots of money.

You can pick the dentist you want.

People also like the fact that you can pick your dentist and often keep your old dentist, if you had one before. I switched plans and have keep the same dentist all along. All participating dentists are some of the most experienced dentist in your area, as the program only selects the best dentists. Even with the high level of care you will receive, you are going to be amazed how much cheaper this option is for your dental needs.

Back Pain - What is Axial Back Pain?

Axial back pain is the most common type of low back pain. It is usually non-specific - meaning that the anatomical structure responsible for the pain need not be identified because symptoms are usually self limited and resolve. Unlike other low back issues, this type of pain does not travel into the buttock, legs and feet, or other areas of the body. Axial back pain can vary widely from sharp or dull pain, constant or intermittent pain, or mild to severe pain.

Following are characteristics of axial back pain: Low back pain that gets worse with certain activities, such as certain sports. Low back pain that gets worse with certain positions, such as sitting for long periods. Low back pain that is relieved by rest.

An exact diagnosis as to which structure is causing the low back pain rarely has significance to treatment. Further evaluation is only necessary when the pain is severe and chronic. A variety of structures in the lower back can cause axial or mechanical lower back pain, such as a degenerated disc, facet joints problems, and damage to soft tissues - muscles, ligaments, and tendons - and it is often difficult to identify which anatomical structure(s) is the underlying cause of the pain.

Alcohol and Drug Abuse

The subject matter of alcohol and drug abuse is one big subject matter in our society nowadays. The difficulty cuts across all ages and sexes. But it is rife among the teenagers and young ones. It is one subject matter that several concerned government and non-profit organization are trying their best to resolve.

But it is pathetic to note that they are not attaining much success. I believe the solution lies in dealing with the origin of the difficulty. This means that parents, guardians and the government need to wake up to their responsibilities.

One of the several causes of alcohol and drug abuse is peer pressure. This is not limited to only the teenagers. Many adults simply take to drugs and alcoholic drinks because of pressure from friends. For the teenagers, the parents need to make sure that their young ones do not have bad friends. This means that you need to monitor the kind of friends your child moves or plays with.

Healthy Eating for Vegetarians and Vegans

Study after study has revealed the importance of a balanced diet to good health. Eating a balanced diet, one that is rich in all the various minerals and vitamins needed for a healthy body, can present quite a challenge for vegetarians and vegans.

That is because maintaining a good balanced diet in the absence of one entire food group, such as meat and poultry, can be difficult. Meat and other animal products contain significant amounts of important nutrients, such as protein, calcium and B vitamins.

Vegan diets present an even larger problem, since vegans go a step farther and eliminate dairy products and eggs as well as meat. Vegans in particular often have trouble getting the vitamin B12 they need and often must rely on vitamin supplements for this important nutrient.
