Diabetes Glucose Level: What’s Normal and What’s Not
The Fasting Blood Glucose Level - this is a complete fast. To fast completely means to go without food and water from midnight until the test is done. When the test result shows a value beyond 140 mg/dl (and with this same result after two tests), then the patient really is diabetic.
Depression: The Most Effective Treatment
For a better appreciation of the depression treatment that will be discussed in this article, it is important to look at the causes of depression in most people. Most people erroneously believe that depression is mainly caused by a fault with the nervous system, a traumatic or sad event that happens in one’s life. Though some cases of depression result from chemical imbalances in the body or problems with the nervous and coordination system of the body; in most cases, this belief is not correct.
Autism Spectrum Disorder: An Overview
Autism is a chronic brain disorder that manifests in developmental difficulties in the areas of social interaction, verbal skills and communication. If your child is autistic, he is likely to have repetitive and narrow interests. In addition, he finds it hard to cope with changes in schedules and environment. He can react violently when any changes occur or if there is a disruption to his normal schedule.
Unfortunately, it is not known what causes autism but some scientists and researchers believe that it is a genetic abnormality. Yet others say that it is caused by an injury to the brain or exposure to an environmental toxin. This can be supported by the fact that in some population areas, autism is at higher rates of incidence than it is elsewhere.
Eat Healthier by Eating More Fruits and Vegetables

Recent changes in food guidelines have meant an increase in the recommended daily consumption of fruits and vegetables. That is because eating nutrient rich, low calorie, low fat foods such as fruits and vegetables, has been shown to have a strong impact on overall health.
In addition, high levels of fruits and vegetables in the diet has even been shown to help provide protection from a number of diseases and chronic conditions. There are ongoing studies on the relationship between a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and prevention of cancer, diabetes, heart disease and other conditions. While there may not yet be conclusive proof of a link between fruits and vegetables and lower risk of disease, there is ample anecdotal evidence to suggest that a healthy diet leads to a healthy body.
One reason for the strong health benefits of fruits and vegetables is their strong antioxidant qualities. Many fruits and vegetables are high in important antioxidant vitamins like vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin A. In addition, fruits and vegetables contain lots of other nutrients and trace elements that are important to the proper function of the body.
Dental Care Or Cell Phone?
Dentists recommend regular checkups for adults and children alike because most problems involving dental health can be treated and prevented fairly easily when found in early stages. If left untreated these same dental problems can become substantially more painful, difficult and expensive as time goes on.
Dental health has a complicated relationship with general health. Dentists have been encouraged to take advantage of checkups to note any dental disease that may be linked to other, more systemic chronic disease. Inflammation of the gums may also indicate inflammation elsewhere and has been linked to such diseases as stroke, heart disease, diabetes and some forms of cognitive decline in old age.
